Graduate – Management Trainee
Are you an enthusiastic and self-motivated university graduate eager to use, adapt and develop existing skills whilst embracing challenges and taking on new responsibilities? Working closely with all members of the team including senior management, concentrated training will be given with hands on experience across a wide range of duties to build a solid base for increasing responsibilities and personal growth as proficiency develops.
Lanka Kade is a small family run business established in 1994 based in Market Harborough, south Leicestershire, on the borders of Northamptonshire and Warwickshire. Our modern headquarters incorporate a large office, showroom and 10,000 sq. ft warehouse.
Passionate about ethical and sustainable trade, Lanka Kade specialises in the design, manufacture and wholesale of quality wooden toys suitable for children aged from birth to 8 years. Our small team work together to cover every aspect of the business; sourcing, training, developing Sri Lankan artisans and production, designing original product, packaging, and catalogues, website development, SEO and digital marketing. Day to day tasks include sales calls, researching new markets, credit control, import, export and customer service.

Previous experience, interest in or awareness of the following are preferable but not essential as training will be given:
- Fair trade, sustainability and ecommerce
- Emerging trends
- Sales or account management
- Toys and early years development
This is an exciting opportunity to develop skills, take on new challenges and be a valued member of a small team whilst developing areas of specialism and individual responsibilities.
You will be required to attend major national and international events which will involve weekend working and unsociable hours. Future opportunities include visiting Sri Lanka and meeting our artisan groups.
Pay: £12.50 per hour
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week. (9am to 5pm Monday to Friday)
Location: Office based – remote working not considered
Holiday: 28 days including bank holidays
