Our aim is to reduce poverty through trade. We build long term sustainable trading partnerships that provide stability and protect local skills. We offer advice, training and interest free loans to support business development. we comply with the internationally accepted 10 Principles of Fair Trade and we have been a proud and active member of BAFTS (The British Association of Fair Trade Shops and Suppliers) since 2001.
FSC certified wood
The majority of our products are made from sustainably sourced Sri Lankan rubber wood. The rubber trees are initially tapped for their latex and once exhausted, they are felled and replanted with a new rubber tree that is able to reach maturity in 13 years. Lanka Kade achieved FSC Chain of Custody Certification in October 2023 with an increasing amount of our range now made from FSC certified wood.
